My name is LaRue Cook. I grew up in a small town called Kingston, which is about 30 miles west of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, which is where I received my Bachelor's in Journalism in 2007. From there, I set out for New York City to become a famous writer. Instead, I became a decent editor, ultimately landing in Bristol, Connecticut, where I rose to senior editor for ESPN The Magazine and ESPN.com. On Jan. 15, 2016, I left The Worldwide Leader and returned to Knoxville to become an Existential Mess. During my limited free time, I'm driving for Uber, traveling, and putting my MFA from Fairfield University to work on a collection of short stories.

My fiction has appeared in Minetta Review, Star 82 Review, and Inwood Indiana. You can follow my "Uber Nights" blog here at My2ndFirstStep.com, or on Instagram (@cook.larue), Twitter, and Facebook. If you'd like to purchase any of my images on canvas, please contact me at the link above.
